For the fourth consecutive year, Bargny Diaspora, an NGO based in Los Angeles, organized Camps Vert in Bargny, a coastal town located 35 kilometers southeast of Dakar, Senegal. This year, The Nomadic STEM Educators (TNSE) partnered with the organization to introduce 20 children to the exciting world of STEM and Level 1 Robotics, marking a key moment in the camp’s ongoing mission to empower local youth.
Technology Meets Sustainability
A key highlight was the wind energy project, where the children built wind turbines. They learned about renewable energy and how robotics can create eco-friendly solutions, aligning with the camp’s focus on environmental education and sustainable technology.
Inspiring Future Innovators
The children were also moved by The World of Sabbih, a story about a girl from Zanzibar dreaming of becoming a robotics engineer. This resonated with them, motivating them to pursue their own dreams in STEM.
What’s Next: Expanding Opportunities
This successful partnership has inspired TNSE to plan a Level 2 Robotics Workshop, introducing coding and advanced STEM skills to further equip these young innovators with the tools needed to thrive in technology.
